INFO:
Formed at the end of 2008 by Vocalist Aybars Altay, Guitarists Izmael & Murat and Bassist Mert Tartac, Seth.ECT was formed with the intention of combining the power of Industrial music & the aggression of extreme metal with oriental music, creating a truly haunting, brutish yet vastly appealing sound that's encapsulated perfectly on their upcoming album, Godspeak.Currently receiving mass praise throughout the UK and EU, early reviews of the album have described it as a fantastic example of how to mix ones culture with musical taste and A ballsy, powerful creation that takes absolutely no prisoners.REVIEW:
I found and listened to this album on a whim after being starved on a solid industrial metal albums. On first listen I was very impressed with the uniqueness of their sound. For their first album they really set the pace and have brought around a fresh sound to industrial metal. The album sounds like a mix of dubstep, electro and death metal. Every songs intro is spectacular and huge with crushing synthetic riffs that. The album has great solid drums with heavy double kick pedal action that gives off that energetic feel. The album takes a few listens to fully take it all in each songs is unique with a varied style. One of my main niggles with the album is the limited range of screeching vocals can get a bit tiring and generic after awhile but its easily overcame with the instrumentation.
The industrial metal genre of late hasn't seen many great releases but I can safely say this has been a gem in the rough. Songs that stood out to me were For se7en years with its oriental intro and orison, both sounding as epic as each other with the perfect combo of synth and metal with great slowly building up intros. Definitely worth a listen to if you've been craving a solid industrial metal album. They also just released a single which I will put up soon.
8/10 - Diamond in the rough
