Vespero - Liventure #21
August 3rd, 2011
Liventure 21 - Vespero

Vespero is an experimental band that formed in 2003 and is located in Russia. Last year, they released the latest disc in the Liventure album series titled Liventure #21. The band defines the album’s genre as, “space,” which hints to quite the interesting, unique listening experience.

“Crabs Ashore,” is a mix of space type music with a bit of rock, and is all instrumental. It is heavily synthesized and features what sounds like some definitive slow drum beats. However, at times the song speeds up to a relatively faster pace.

The more spacey sound of the album comes out in a big way on the track, “Turquoise.” The sound of this song is surely something that could be played while a UFO lands and aliens step out in a cloud of fog. The song, “Cosmos,” conveys a similar feeling.

Liventure #21 is quite the listening experience indeed. Vespero’s space like sound mixed with experimental rock will give listeners something they do not hear every day and transport them to an out of this world state of mind. Anyone in search of something that is extraordinarily different should check out this disc.
