After releasing the critically acclaimed Adelaide (we liked it) Tim follows up with a 5 track EP titled Sessions Lamar.
Miller is an intelligent and lucid singer/songwriter/musician that encapsulates everything you would want to hear from an indie artist. I appreciated his innate sense of rhythm with his guitar playing, then to weave the lyrics around the music so emotionally… it all coalesces beautifully and during each track you end up in a free fall right into the story.
The songwriting and musicianship is vibrant, fresh, and incredibly catchy. Although only five songs are offered here the impact is tremendous on every recording. The Cat Stevens song “Father and Son” is very powerful and Miller sounds a lot like the originator of the song, which in turn prompts chills to go up and down your spine. The rest of the EP is equally attractive lyrically and musically and basically has the same effect. “Man Overboard” is exceptional as well and it closes out the EP with Miller wearing his heart on his sleeve, as he does throughout the CD.
This is an impressive EP and hopefully just a teaser to a full length release that will be following.
